Command and Conquer 3 Micro Guide

Their are quite a few things you can do that can help you win and be efficient at the micro-management game of Command and Conquer 3. A lot of these techniques may seem like small things, but doing all the small things right can help you to victory.

*Pull damaged units back, and pull them back using the CTRL+D hot key so they fall back in reverse. Pulling damaged units back for repair can save you a lot of money and can make your next attack much stronger. Pulling back 4 medium tanks as GDI will save you 4400 credits and also the build time it would take for your warfactories to crank out 4 more tanks. Also, the reason you should use the CTRL+D hot key to pull your vehicles back is because the armor on the front of the vehicles is much stronger than the armor on the rear of the vehicles. By having them reverse, you may be able to save a few more units.

*When in a battle, target one enemy at a time. It is much better to destroy one vehicle at a time than it is to have all your units firing at different enemies.

*Try to exploit the weaker armor of enemy vehicles by flanking. If you are able to have divided forces in the field, it can be very effective to flank the enemy force. The enemy vehicles take much more damage from the rear and they will also have to look multiple directions during the battle.

*Use the special abilities of your vehicles/infantry to help sway the outcome of a battle. A few examples of this is the APC mine field or the mine field NOD can lay from the air. If you are able to get a mine field right around the enemies force, they will sustain a lot of damage when they try to move and it will be easy for your main force to roll right over these damaged units.

*Figure out good combinations of units to make an effective force. Make sure that when you build a force, especially middle to late game, that you have a force that can deal with infantry, vehicles, and air units. Most good players will get to the air mid to late game if the match lasts that long, so make sure you can counter these air units.
